The Blood Sugar Maintenance Package includes 200mg of organic Moringa leaf powder and Two (2) tins of capsules (120) in each tin.
Moringa oleifera, one of the world’s most nutritious plants is a nutritional “powerhouse”, providing:
- 7 times more vitamin C than oranges,
- 4 times more vitamin A than carrots,
- 4 times more calcium than milk,
- 3 times more potassium than bananas
- 2 times more protein than yogurt.
Moringa has been coined a “supermarket on a trunk”, the “tree of life” and a “miracle tree”.
Not only does Moringa provide you with Superfood nutrition, it also provides a powerful antioxidant punch. In a recently publicized study, Moringa topped all other superfoods in antioxidant power, including Acai, green tea dark chocolate and blueberries!
Moringa contains a type of acid called chlorogenic acid, which has been shown to help control blood sugar levels and allow cells to take up or release glucose (sugar) as needed. This gives moringa natural antidiabetic and hormone-balancing properties.
Helps Maintain Heathly Blood Sugar Levels
One study in 30 women showed that taking 1.5 teaspoons (7 grams) of moringa leaf powder every day for three months reduced fasting blood sugar levels by 13.5%, on average. (26)
Another small study in six people found that adding 50 grams of moringa leaves to a meal reduced the rise in blood sugar by 21%. (27)
Moringa may help lower blood sugar while decreasing glucose intolerance. Moringa leaf tablets reduced both blood glucose and HbA1C, a long-term marker of glucose levels, in 60 people with type 2 diabetes. They took moringa for up to 3 months (28).
Moringa reduced blood glucose in another study of people on a high-carb diet. And high-dose moringa leaf powder (4 g/day) increased insulin production in 10 healthy subjects after just one day. The lower doses (2 g and less) had a much weaker effect (27, 29).
Moringa reduced blood glucose in 17 people. A very high dose of 20 g of moringa powder per day was added to meals in this study for only 2 days (30).
Helps Maintain a Healthy Body Weight
Human clinical trials have demonstrated Moringa’s ability to balance healthy blood sugar levels and aid weight reduction. In a recent, double-blind, crossover study from Mexico, obese people took either Moringa leaf or a placebo for ten weeks; then after a two-week ‘washout’ period, the treatments were swapped around. (32)
The results showed that treatment with Moringa leaf reduced body weight and body mass index (BMI) and lowered fasting blood glucose. Blood pressure was also lower when patients were taking Moringa leaf and their ratio of HDL to LDL-cholesterol – the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ kinds of cholesterol – improved. (32)
In another clinical trial, postmenopausal women who took Moringa leaf powder had significant reductions in their fasting blood glucose levels and increases in blood levels of antioxidant compounds and haemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying pigment in red blood cells. These findings show that Moringa is an effective, natural means of lowering blood sugar that is free from side effects.(33)
It Helps Maintain Healthy Glucose Levels
Moringa leaf powder has been effective at reducing lipid and glucose levels and regulating oxidative stress in patients, which means it lowers blood sugar and cholesterol and improves protection against cell damage. (35, 36)
Scientists believe these effects are caused by plant compounds such as isothiocyanates, also Moringa’s polyphenols and chlorogenic acids balance blood sugar levels. (37)
A study that appeared in the International Journal of Food Science Technology found that moringa had positive effects on blood glucose control and insulin levels in patients when eaten as part of a high-carbohydrate meal. The effects of three different plants (moringa, curry and bittergourd) were tested in response to eating meals containing various levels of glucose. The results showed that plasma insulin responses were significantly lower when the three plants were included in the meal compared to when they weren’t, with all three plants having similar effects. (27)
Separate studies conducted by the Biotechnology Institute at Sadat City University in Egypt have found that low doses of moringa seed powder (50–100 milligrams per kilogram body weight) help increase antioxidant status and enzyme production within the liver, pancreas and kidneys of rats and prevent damage compared to control groups. (38)
Results from the study showed that overall, compared to rats not given the moringa herbal treatment, those receiving moringa experienced a return to both kidney and pancreatic health. (38)
